    City of Tours

    If you are passing by, take a break to discover the superb city of Tours, delimited by both rivers, the Loire and Cher and easily noticable thanks to its timbered houses and paved roads. From the City Hall to the banks of the Loire, and passing through the Place du Grand Marché and the impressive St-Gatien cathedral: the old city and heart of Tours can be visited by bike as well as by foot!

    Falling in love in front of the most beautiful landscapes in which the longest river of France crosses through, and still being close to the Nature ? It’s the start of a cycling adventure… You are getting started to cycle along the Loire ? We are welcoming you at the campsite, which is located only 3 kms away from the Loire à Vélo itinerary (cycling paths to join the itinerary) . Travel light: the campsite is meant to receive our cycling friends!

    The Prieuré Saint-Cosme 9 km.

    On a patrimony note now, this ancient monastery from the XIIth century and having sheltered the famous poet Ronsard, invites you to follow its numerous circuits mixing both poetry and art and dive into the different chapters of History.

    Vineyards.

    The Val de Loire, region part of the Unesco World Heritage, is a must-see. Its identity is signed by its numerous vinyards scattered all over the region. To all wine lovers but also to all curious people, visits are organised around the vineyards. 13 kms away from the campsite, the Cave des Producteurs de Vouvray does guided and wine tasting tours. Here’s to satisty everyone!

    Loire Valley Castles.

    Reputed for its different varieties of wine, the Val de Loire gathers not less than a hundred castles, witnesses of the Renaissance era in particular. The campsite being ideally located, you will be able to easily see the most beautiful and famous sites and treasures of the Val de Loire (Château de Chenonceau – 29kms, Château Royal d’Amboise – 24kms, Château & Jardins de Villandry – 18 kms). Do not hesitate to get or buy your reduced price entries at the reception of the campsite.

    Discover the most famous Zoo in France !

    The most famous zoo of Franche, in less than an hour drive away! Part from the 5 most beautiful zoos in the world, so many different species are waiting for you to see! Enjoy a family or friends excursion.

    • Near the campsite •

    Only a few steps away from the campsite, you will be able to find all facilities you need! The proximity with the city center, shops and local restaurants allows you to cycle or walk from the campsite (10 mn walking). Public transportation are regularly running from and to the city center of Tours (see access). In the Old Town, it will be possible to taste the local gastronomy. For all nature lovers, several paths departing from the campstite and following the river Cher will offer you a large bowl of fresh air! Nearby, enjoy several nautical activities at the Canoë-Kayak Club of Tours and Centre Aquatique du Lac. Possibility to fish in the area.

    The Val d’Amboise destination…

    And why not discovering the Val d’Amboise ? 25 kms away from the campsite, take the day off to admire all the treasures of the city of Amboise. Its Renaissance castle standing over the Loire will offer a beautiful panorama over the Loire Valley.

    500m further, stop by the Clos Lucé, directly accessible by walk from the Château Royal d’Amboise. This former castle built during the XVth century showing a Renaissance inspired design was the last shelter of the famous Leornado da Vinci. This museum will allow you to retrace the life of Leornardo da Vince through fun animations. Take the time to walk in the huge gardens, a little haven of peace where you can see giant models made after Leonardo’s sketches.

    The day is ending and you don’t know where to spend the night? Make a stop at the campsite La Gâtine, in Bléré (12 kms away from Amboise)! Original accommodation or even large pitches, the campsite welcomes you from April to October.
